Terms of Service
Effective October 8, 2026.
These terms cover the SCIFText Android app and the sciftext.com service. By using SCIFText you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.
Use it for your own phone
- Install SCIFText only on a phone you own or are allowed to manage, and forward only to email addresses you control.
- Don't use it to monitor someone else's messages, to send spam, or for anything illegal.
- Follow the rules of your workplace or facility. SCIFText doesn't make it OK to read messages, or bring a phone, where that isn't allowed.
- You're responsible for the texts sent from your number, including replies you send by email, and for your carrier's messaging charges.
- Keep your email accounts secure: anyone who can send from your verified address can send texts from your phone.
No guarantee of delivery
SCIFText depends on your phone, its battery settings, your carrier, email providers, Amazon SES and Google Firebase. Messages can be delayed, cut short or lost. Don't rely on SCIFText for emergencies or anything where a missed or late message could cause harm. Call emergency services directly.
The service
- SCIFText is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost or delayed messages.
- We may change or stop the service. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk.
- Usage limits may apply to protect the service. A gifted or discounted plan ends when you delete the account. If paid plans are sold later, their prices and terms will be shown before you buy.
Ending
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app or at sciftext.com/delete-account.
Trademarks
App names mentioned in SCIFText belong to their owners. SCIFText isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them.
